War Memorial

The War Memorial stands in the middle of the village and commemorates those who lost their lives in the service of their country during both Word Wars. It is maintained by residents. On Remembrance Sunday each year villagers gather to pay their respects and lay wreathes in honour of the fallen.

Walter Mellors has conducted extensive research into the WW1 soldiers who gave their lives for their country and who’s names appear on the memorial. A small booklet was produced and distributed to all homes in the village.
